Nåusm Salish Language Revitalization Institute is a private 501 (c)(3) nonprofit chartered in 2003 in the State of Montana to research, promote and preserve the Salish Language. It is based in the Flathead Indian Reservation in Arlee, Montana. It is the dream of four young Salish people to recreate the process of passing the Salish language from parent to child, elder to youth in an effort to holistically preserve the language, perpetuating the Salish tribal way of life and world view. A significant amount of support is received from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes' government.
Nåusm raised $107,000 at our recent luncheon. 41 donors joined our Good Heart Giving Society. Nåusm received a three year grant from the Administration for Native Americans, a federal agency, in the amount of $717,000. In addition Nåusm received a $50,000 capital improvement grant from the Ruth Danely & William Enoch Moore Charitable Trust.

Our school continues to grow and we require more space to accommodate additional students and staff. The final phase of this capital improvement project entails renovation of the remaining space of the building. This will add 3 classrooms, a new kitchen and dining area, new lavatories, additional office space, a library, an A/V recording studio, and additional storage space. Among others $150,000 for a new roof, $325,000 for a new kitchen , $125,000 for updated heating/AC system. $30,000 will get this 2nd phase started with the construction of a new sub floor. Help us recover the cost of the architectural fees of $18,000. You can donate using the Pay Pal link to the left or you can send in a donation-pledge form. Help us reach our goal of $2.4 million. To date supporters have pledged $150,000 to the project. DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
